Shad’s goal within L.I.F.E 5b is to help local farmers get paid more for their hard work and help them find new financial opportunities that can aid their farm business expand and become more sustainable — at the same time, getting more local foods to people who need them. Defeating food insecurity is his top priority. People continue to fall through the cracks, whether being denied by their local Food Pantry or SNAP, there is no excuse for people going hungry. We have too many resources available for that to be happening regularly. He wants to be there to fill in those gaps in our Food System.

Garden of Paradise aims to bring a higher quality of Produce than the grocery stores can provide! Iowa has some of the best soil on the planet and has the ability to grow more than traditional row crops. Garden of Paradise wants to set an example for the next generation. There is more to agriculture than traditional row crops. Vegetables and fruits grown locally can feed more local people, reduce our carbon footprint, and help people live healthier, happier lives!
